[Amazon Black Friday 2018] Espresso Machines Deals Review

Amazon Black Friday Week 2018 starts today. I prepared a short review of current deals (only espresso machines!). What is worth to buy and what is better to skip? This page will be updated as soon as new espresso products appear among Amazon.com’s deals.

Deal of the Day. November 17th. Mr. Coffee Cafe Barista Espresso and Cappuccino Maker

Mr. Coffee’s Cafe Barista BVMC-ECMP1000 in Silver Color is on sale today. 🔔Check the deal on Amazon! The price is superb. The discount is real, indeed. Of course, the discount is not as big as is shown, which is always the case. However, the current deal price is 20-30% lower than minimal I saw during this year.

Read my review before buying! This machine has some drawbacks, which are important to understanding before choosing it.

№1. Jura 13626 Ena Micro 1 Automatic Coffee Machine, Micro Black

My verdict:👎 better not to buy. The price with the deal is good, indeed. Click here to check it on Amazon, by the way. However, the machine itself isn’t. Usually, Jura espresso machines are considered to be reliable. This is true. Jura also makes one of the strongest espresso on the market due to biggest brewing unit in the class (up to 16 gr / 0.56 oz of ground coffee per cup). This is also true.

However, the Ena Micro series is an unpleasant exception. Jura Ena Micro 1 (as well as Micro 8, Micro 9 and A1) has a different reduced brewing unit. Not only its capacity is the problem. Micro’s unit is less reliable. Just google about ‘Error 8’ problem on Ena Micro series.

The other thing that could be listed in cons is common for all Jura’s machines. They have built-in brewing group. You can’t eject it for cleanings. That’s why you need to regularly run descaling cycles using expensive (see on amazon) Jura’s descaling and cleaning tablets. In 2-3 years it is recommended to take it to a service shop for deep cleaning and greasing. In other words, Jura’s maintenance cost is higher than in the case of Saeco, Delonghi, Gaggia.

№2. Hamilton Beach Espresso Machine with Steamer – Cappuccino, Mocha, & Latte Maker (40715)

My verdict:😐 good deal for this price, however, if you have extra money better buy a bit more expensive Delonghi ECP3420 (check price on amazon, read my review) or EC155 (check price on amazon, read my review). I have review of this espresso machine here. I will briefly repeat key points:

• Entry-level espresso machine engineered in China
• Makes good, but not perfect espresso due to the controversial pressurized filter construction
• Steam wand could be better – too many big bubbles in the milk foam, but you can get used to it
• However, it’s one of the cheapest machine on the market.
• The overall price/quality ration is rather good
• No problems with spare parts and repair

In other words, if you are short on a budget then buying the Hamilton Beach 40715 would be a good deal. However, consider raising your budget if you can.

My verdict:👍 Will be a perfect match for your moka pot! This is compact Chinese manual grinder with a perfect grind setting for moka pots. The build quality isn’t perfect, but it does its job well and my overall opinion based on the price/functions ration is positive.

You may buy the same grinder directly from China on Aliexpress, by the way, if you are in the mood of waaaiting.
